The Multi-talented Jimmy Anderson

We all know dad (grandpa) sings, conducts and plays the piano, but did you know he was a pretty fair violinist? This picture was taken when he was nine or ten at the farm near Windsor in Shelby County. Care to comment on those knee breeches, dad?

I have been typing up the bits and pieces of my grandmother, Mona Chisnhall Anderson's history for the last several months. I'm hoping to have a little booklet together sometime this summer for each of you. It has been very rewarding to get to know her a little better. I was 22 when she died, so most of my memories of her are from a child's perspective. She was a remarkable woman. I think you would all like her, and she would be popping her buttons at your many successes. As a one-room school teacher for many years, she placed a high value on education.

Here is a picture of Mona, her oldest child Coral, and baby Jack who died at age two, shortly after the death of his younger brother, George Thomas. Grandpa (James) was the last of four, and thirteen years younger than Coral.
